Ahhhh Summer

I grew up in the NYC area of New York, down there the seasons are all well defined. Winter melts into spring somewhere around the actual date, flowers bloom in April and summer slides in after spring has had a chance to prepare you for warm weather. Autum is crisp and cool and it never snows in autumn, winter is dark and cold and the chance of a white Christmas is minimal but has been known to happen.
Here in NNY most seasons seem to just run over each other, it can snow in autumn, things really don't bloom alot until the end of spring ,almost summer and then, like a huge natural fireworks display, summer EXPLODES in the north country. Green is the greenest green anywhere, the sky is the bluest blue, flowers are amazing in the purity of their color! It seems like one goes to sleep one night to a semi-gray world and wakes up to COLOR! Bright color, amazing color like a gift to make up for all the months of fading color and just plain gray.
I was back on my favorite rock the other day looking at the lake and the surrounding shoreline and it was so colorful and so peaceful. I can actually feel the tension just drain out of me and all my worries just float away on the puffy clouds. Ahhhhh summer, maybe I appreciate it so much because every year it's a new fireworks display.
